Mark and I went to the park in Kendallville yesterday. A short trip ended up in us walking all the way around Bixler lake (which is no small trip!).
There were these kids on bikes, and we moved off the path so they could get by us. After a few moments, no kids zoomed by, so I looked back. They'd gotten off their bikes and were approaching some birds on the side of the lake.
"DUCKYDUCKYDUCKYDUCKY!" they yelled, flailing their arms about and running at the birds.
I turned back and called "THOSE ARE GEESE!"

Long story short, a comment thread on
ozma914 's journal ended up in me making a video of Daleks and Cybermen (from the TV show Dr. Who )doing the Safety Dance. 'Cos, you know, they can dance if they want to.
Silly me. I don't have a video editor.
Behold, my crappy GIF animation. I spent for FRAKKING ever making all the colors similar in the images so they'd flow better, fixing the image quality, etc etc (except in the one with the weird tan background..)... only for it to get all screwed up with the GIFness. The load time is terrible, the quality sucks now, and it's not all that great to begin with.. but it's fun for a laugh.
This is why I shouldn't embark on projects at 5 am, especially when Mark isn't around to supervise so I don't blow things up. Not that I blew anything up while making this.. :)

Today, I realized just how unmercifully I'm going to be teased at camp/work this year.
*blink*
I think I'll take the 1,000 lb territorial horse-beasts in the first week or so of trying to re-establish their pecking order over the tiny, fragile babies. Horses I can deal with. Babies terrify me. I'm afraid I'll break them. Saddling a horse I can do.. changing a diaper is foreign to me. And I much prefer barn smell over diaper smell. Plus, you can't ride a baby.
*quirks eyebrow*
I think I've been reading too many of Mark's columns. When I get stressed or tired, I tend to write like him. Maybe I should try for my own column in the paper... "Slightly off the Mark: Sans Mustache".. or something like that.
I make lots of jokes about Mark's mustache, but honestly, I think he'd look really weird without it. I like it.
(Now, who can tell me how I went from babies to mustaches?)
Speaking of Mark and the mustache... we cleaned up the yard yesterday. Picked up the branches, sticks, and shingles and trash from next door, got the leaves away from the basement door, put the screens in the back windows, etc.
There is a HUGE pile of every size of stick imaginable in the backyard.. along with a very large patch of bare dirt from when his pipes were dug up and replaced last year.
You camp people reading this know what this means. Big blazical in the back yard. S'mores, then hamburgers a la foil. Large first aid kit on standby. All kerosene removed from the immediate vicinity.
I'm excited. :D
I might have to make two, at different times. 'Cause, you know.. Banana Boats. </camp jargon>
Also, I talked to my mother on the phone today for probably 3 1/2 hours or more altogether today, and didn't want to smash my face into any sort of hard, unyielding object. Go me?

I had the most awesomest day.
And the most awesomest freakin' steak at Applebees. I'd never eaten there before, and... wow.
I can't really think straight enough to put words or sentences together. I need to go to bed soon... got to get up early tomorrow to go to a birthday party for one of Mark's nephews. (Nephew, right? I get sooooo confused..)

Mark is writing a new story.
He makes funny/cute faces when he writes.

Well, it's not as bad as it sounds.
I got on thecure.com, to check for updates on the new album. It's WAY overdue, and I hadn't checked in a while. I'd be pretty PO'd if it came out and I didn't even realize it.
It's not out yet, by any means.
The Cure's various tour dates were up. WHY DON'T YOU COME TO THE MIDWEST, ROBERT?!
They're playing as the Sasquatch festival. Lots of bands, $55 bucks a day (I think $65 now, actually, since the early deadline passed). That's cheaper than buying Cure tickets. Way cheaper. I could DO that.
..if I didn't have to drive to WASHINGTON for the event. *sigh*
To add salt to the wound, one of my friends (who's not a fan) lives in Washington. Someone I know will be nearby.. oblivious.
I guess I seem a bit bitter about this whole thing. I keep bringing it up. But.. it's one of those life goals, you know? The Cure is one of those bands that you listen to when you're down in the dumps, and feel better. Or when you're happy, or lonely, or ..whatever, depending on which album you pick. I've wanted to see them play for a long time; sure, I love the albums and always will. But just once, I'd like to be a part of that experience, hearing the vocals in person, seeing Robert, listening to the instrumentation.
And boy, would I love to hear some of those new songs!
But.. I guess I'll just have to wait.
I guess when Mark gets his writing contract and is rich and famous, I'll ask him to buy me a private show..
Robert's only a few years older than Mark.. if Mark gets on it, maybe he'll still be able to play. ;p

I'm not sure why I just remembered this, but Mark and I had an odd series of conversations today. It started when we looked outside for some reason (to check the amount of snow left on the ground?), and noticed a group of boys skateboarding over at the bank.
"Ugh," I groaned. "Stupid scene kids."
Now, I'm usually not one to get into that stereotyping thing. However... when you purposefully decide to look a certain way, I might call you on it. If you dress in all black and start carrying around a sword and throw stars me, I'll start calling you a ninja.
But try to explain to someone who's never heard that term what it means.
*sigh* Sadly, I'd forgotten about Urbandictionary.com until.. just now. So here you go, Mark and other people who have no clue what the hell I'm talking about. ;p
*reads.. blinks*. I guess I fit some of the categories, but at least I don't go around wearing a damn bandanna pretending to be a ninja.. except when I'm at camp and paid to act like a doofus, and realize that I have 'character hunt' in an hour and no costume to speak of..
Anyway. Just like any group of people, there are some good and some annoying - not trying to offend anyone or put anyone down. Just saying, when you see someone doing something stupid, it's easy to call them on other stupid things - like dumping bleach on part of their hair and wearing pants that will probably lessen their ability to have children in the future. ;p

I figured I was due to report on
ozma914 's trip here, now that I can type about it without sobbing because he's no longer here. :)
Let's see.. what do I even say about it? That it was the most fantastic few days of my life? That he's the most amazing person on the face of the Earth? That I love him with all my heart?
We went to several cemeteries around here, and took lots of pictures. We even did a cool photo session in one of them (he's a photographer, apparently I'm a decent model). We went out to eat with one of my friends at the awesome Mexican restaurant in town that I love so much, and then went cemetery hopping & to an abandoned house with her. Pretty neat stuff. We went stargazing too, which was fun but cold - but worth it since we saw shooting stars. I also took him to the camp I work at in the summer, and we took tons more pictures as I showed him around.
That may not sound like a whole lot, but we're both homebodies who like to stay cuddled up in our houses. Other than those things, that's just what we did - stayed inside and cuddled and watched movies and stuff.
Reading over this, it doesn't give justice to why we both had such a good time. We just.. compliment each other well. We can sit for hours and talk about writing/fiction/photography/etc, and point out constellations and planets to each other while we're stargazing.. *trails off*. He's just... the best. And did I mention he's all warm and cuddly? :)

What an eventful weekend!
-Talked to Mark ♥ Saturday
-Hung out with Tiff! yay.
-Played Dungeons and Dragons for the first time! My character is an elvish ranger named Tolleson Darkhorse, and she pwns. :D
-Had choir/cantata practice for an hour and a half. almost died.
-The Whore of Babylon, as we endearingly call her, is rid from our lives!!! Thank God.
-I now play Xander on the rp, as well as my original character.
-"Your heart is blinding me!" -The dungeon master of our DnD group. (I was wearing a shiny necklace with a heart charm.. funny though.
-I got the highest grade possible on my Macbeth essay - the one I wrote the night before it was due. The teacher even wrote "Great!" on my paper.
-I finished my colored pencil/ebony drawing of a VfV scene in art, and got a 90%.
-got my Smitty poster hung up, and it's staying... the Kurt one, however, has decided to rebel.
-I made an adorable sig for my Suzy character:

Well, Tiff's about to pick me up, and I'll be staying there tonight. She and I are going out with Kody. :)
Oh, and Mark - my middle name is not "Susan". And if you call Suzy that, she'd probably rip one of your vital organs..
I think you got like a 70 or 75 on the stalker thing. You're gonna have to brush up on that, mister. lol.
see you lovely people later! I'm sure she's almost here by now. :)

This is just going to be a list, becuase I'm rping and, well, it's distracting 'cos I'm trying not to get injured.
Here's what I've accomplished today:
*Got my permit renewed.
*Mailed Mark's package.
*Made a few more lj userpics.
*Got my posters in, and mom let me have them as an early b-day present since I already knew what they were. Soon, Kurt and Smitty will be on my wall. :)
*Sent Mark a few pics.
*Got on the rp, invited Mal and a new girl to rp with Teagan and I.
*Breeched the 350 posts on the rp! w00t!
*I also just dusted a vampire.
And now, I need to go, 'cause the rp's picking up and I still have stuff to do for class, anyway. Much love to you all!
